Initial Ideas: Image Research

Within these first few weeks we also did a heap of image research on existing games that were "life size" to give us a bit of inspiration as to what we could do ourselves.

Initial Ideas: Sketches

In the first few weeks of the project we did a lot of discussing and drawing of ideas for what we could maybe do for our market stall. We knew we wanted to do something that was interactive and was maybe a game of some sort that more than one person could interact with at once.

We came up with ideas of "life sized" games. So an existing classic game that we could make BIG and make it be fun for young adults to play

Ideas such as target games, basketball hoop styled games, balloon popping, skee ball, angry birds, puzzle genre games etc.

Initial research/brainstorming of idea

So for our first session, we immediately decided we were set on creating some kind of game, something that could be interacted with and spark some competition between marketgoers. Initial ideas involved use of a projector as well as a tablet and camera- people making portraits of others that would be projected onto a large format in the marketplace. However we decided to opt for a more recyclable approach and settled on an old arcade game from the U.S: skee-ball.

After this session we decided to individually seek out material we could use, as well as different ball types. We also thought about how we could increase the competitiveness of the game as well as come up with an incentive for participants.
